I love a good Night-O-Beauty, and it seems so rare that one can really find the time to treat oneself like a special lady. I mean a full evening of primping, preening, and plucking. I mean a whole night devoted to the leisurely arts of deep conditioning, pedicures, and, of course, the salt scrub. For a recent Night-O-Beauty, I decided to test drive Black Pearl Botanicals Sea Salt Rejuvination Body Scrub.
I really like this scrub. I am normally not a fan of salt scrubs, but this one really makes my roughest areas smooth. Also, it smells wonderful. Here again is me being lousy at describing scents, but this smells sweet and rosy but also kind of herbal. It's really a unique fragrance. I have a solid perfume from Black Pearl Botanicals that I also adore, and so I must conclude that they are absolute masters of the delightful reek.
I followed the directions exactly, and after my normal cleansing with a body wash, I scooped a little bit of the scrub out of the package and rubbed it on my elbows, knees, feet and ankles, and hands, which is where my skin is always dry, rough and scaly. I was astonished after I rinsed it off: my skin felt incredibly soft. I have the 2 oz trial size of the scrub which has lasted me through about 3 applications and I still have some left.
My one complaint about this product is the packaging. Black Pearl Botanicals puts this scrub in a thick, black plastic packet that is impossible to open without a scissors. I do not keep a scissors in my bathroom.
Here's an unpleasant visual from my Night-O-Beauty: me, running naked and dripping, through my apartment, jumping over the cats (meow!) to grab my trusty kitchen scissors and cut this open. And return to my nice warm shower and my Night-O-Beauty. The moral of this story is that it would be really nice if they packaged this in a nice, easy-open jar. Or, if you try this product, do bring your scissors into the bathroom with you or suffer the consequences!
Also, you can't reclose the trial size, and I'm sure that there are many people (OK most people) who are cleverer than me about such things, but I just kind of folded the packet and left it in the shower. A few minutes ago I went to sniff it and it had gotten some water in it which spilled out all over my hands and arm. Of course, my hands and my arm now feel silky soft and smell wonderful, but I still would love this product even more if it came in a nice reclosable, easy-open jar for those of us that need remedial packacking lessons.
Black Pearl Botanicals Sea Salt Rejuvination Body Scrub is a sensual delight, containing: extra fine solar sea salt, apricot oil, macadamia nut oil, soapnut powder, orange peel powder, lemon peel powder, multani mitti clay powder, vitamin E oil, essential oils of: pink grapefruit, lime, juniper berry, cypress, linaloe berry, rosewood, rosemary, geranium-rose, nutmeg, cardamom.
