I really really wanted to like MAC Opulash Mascara. I had read it was the best that MAC had come out with in a long time. My sister told me she really liked it. And the price is always right for MAC’s mascaras ($14). But I can’t say I like it. It’s going to end up in my BACK2MAC pile sooner rather than later.
The first few times I used the mascara I thought it had some hope. It wasn’t great but it wasn’t bad. Since then though I haven’t found any improvement but I have found some things not to like, for example smudging. Yes Opulash smudges, not huge smudges, but I definitely see darkness under my eyes after a few hours. Since I already have my own personal darkness under my eyes (thank you Insomnia!!) I don’t need to add more to the problem.
Plus you’d think that something starting with the 3 letters OPU would mean that the product was opulent. I expected lushness. I expected glory. Instead I’m ready to remove the O from OPU and rename it PUlash (Oh stop it potty mouth!!) To make it worse, Opulash doesn’t hold the curl I start out with.
The brush is very big; much bigger and longer than I’m used to. I sometimes get some on my eyelids if I’m not careful. The black shade, which is all it comes in, is richly pigmented but when the pigment ends up under my eyes instead of staying on my lashes, it means it’s time to give up on this.
Sorry MAC but you only get 2 flowers from this disappointed MACaholic.
