Bare Escentuals Rare Minerals Purifying facial cleanser is my latest purchase from the mineral based line of skincare.
I was aware (from the demo I watched on QVC) that this cleanser would be sent out in lab packaging (plain white bottle). This is common practice when the the folks at BE introduce a new skincare item to the Rare Minerals range. I don't mind bare bones packaging - however - I would have appreciated having an ingredient list.
The 6oz pump bottle dispenses only a small amount of cleanser - which is excellent because only 2-3 pumps are needed to cleanse my face effectively. This new cleanser is far superior (in my opinion) to their powdered cleanser (activated by water- and didn't do a good job removing makeup).
This new cleanser(that is the consistency of runny yogurt) works best when applied to moistened skin. It breaks down dirt, spf products and makeup easily - yes, even eye makeup. It lives up to its claims of not irritating the eyes - mine are notoriously sensitive and this is a pleasure to use. The scent is light and fresh and doesn't linger. It also works well with my Clarisonic face brush however I find I need 3 pumps of cleanser to allow the brush to float on my skin and not drag. I apply 3 pumps of cleanser to my palm, rub my hands together to create a creamy consistency and massage it onto my moistened face. I concentrate on my eyes to remove makeup and then use my Clarisonic Mia for one cycle (one minute). I then remove all residue with a warm wet washcloth - or jump in the shower and rinse. This cleanser rinses away easily and leaves my skin comfortable, not tight, not itchy -just completely calm and happy.
I have had this cleanser a little over a month and I have used it about 3 days days each week (am and pm) and I will continue to reach for it on a regular basis.
Rare Minerals Purifying facial cleanser is a really good cleanser - the only issue I have with it is the small size of the bottle - 6oz is not much cleanser for the price-$18 and change. By the time I paid shipping and tax this cleanser was right around $25. It's also a QVC exclusive until 2011- so no chance of catching it with a discount code on sites like Sephora.com.
Four Flowers for this cleanser- I removed one for the price.
