I love ubber sheer shimmering lip colors- all someone has to do is mention one around me and I am ready to shop. Last fall- Poppy King a.k.a. The Lipstick Queen debuted her most sheer and glossy lipstick formula to date(imo): Butterfly Ball.


I have two Butterfly Balls (Trance and Float) but Float (on the cool side- very airy almost naked invisible nude/pink) is the one I reach for the most. What can I say- most days I am pretty lazy when it comes to my lips and I like something that's super easy to wear.


Butterfly Balls are sort of a cross between a balm and a gloss (minus the goop). These are super comfortable on the lips, scent free and moisturizing. This is not a long lasting lippie but it's so easy to re-apply-I'm not complaining!
Like all the Butterflies in Poppy's collection- Float has the most subtle but gorgeous blue/green shimmer. This shimmer is supposed to make your smile look brighter- do I really get that from this- well not exactly but I do like it all the same.


I like to wear Float when I do a smoky eye- it's bare-ness doesn't compete with the dramatic eye looks I enjoy. Float also is flattering over soft pink and nude lip liners- it just gives them a little shine. Another thing I love about this shade (because it's so naked) is that there is no mirror required for application. I adore the case- such a pretty shade of steely lavender. I purchased my Butterfly Ball lippies from Poppy's site- her customer service is tops with speedy shipping and a well wrapped parcel!


If Float is too pale or *bare* for your pucker- don't fear Poppy has a Butterfly for most everyone ;O) These retail for $20 and I don't think that's out of line for such good quality products.
